                                                                                            SUMMERWIND AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERDS

The past - It started with our two daughters and their love of horses. We are blessed to live on 35 acres and have the best of rural living The girls began showing horses at a young age which for Bill and I  evolved into breeding horses. The girls went off to college, after which one opted for the city life  and Biotech world of San Francisco, the other  a Veterinarian  owning  "Southwest Equine" - a referral practice in Scottsdale, AZ.

The present  - Bill (retired  law enforcement)  and I (retired teacher) still live on the farm, raise some hay, breed a few competitive show horses.  Aussies came into the fold with "Penny" 15 yrs ago- our first Aussie of strong Twin Oak herding lines. Then came  "Dolly" with "conformation lines" in her pedigree (more suited to what we wanted in an Aussie) . Now as now "empty-nesters" our quest to add a puppy to the mix brought us "Treyse" - our first "show prospect, ". She is now AKC Champion Dreamstreets Three Wishes.  Others have followed from fabulous Hall Of Fame kennels  achieving  titles in Obedience, Rally,  Agility,  Scent Work, Conformation.

The Australian Shepherd is an amazing breed. Their intense devotion, beauty, intelligence, eagerness, and bright spirits are second to none. We are now breeding our Aussies to best of sires and strive for healthy, long lived puppies of stunning breed type, beautiful temperaments, correct structure with the ability to compete in an array of venues and  sports. But above all, they need to be happy, fun,  healthy,  new family members. Ready to meet anyone on the hiking/jogging trail/side walk/beach with a smile and a pleasant greeting.   Puppies are raised in our home and transition to the outside weather permitting. Individual attention and socialization is a continual and ongoing process till they move to their new families.

We continue to look forward to new adventures with our Aussies and our horses and enjoying the friends met along the way...an amazing journey it is.
